After you file
slow down, partner......
Intuit is not the IRS.....
The refund Intuit promotes is predicated upon YOUR data entry. It assumes you have entered everything correctly and it matches the IRS records. For example, you enter that you did not receive the 3rd stimulus payment, but what Intuit can't know is that the IRS say you did - again an example - your refund will be adjusted by the IRS.
'accept' is no different that the mail room at the IRS signing for the incoming mail in a physical world. That is IRS nomenclature and not Intuit saying the IRS has agreed to refund what you calculated using Intuit software.
but you are correct that the refund displayed by Intuit means nothing until the IRS validates what YOU entered into the Intuit software is accurate and matches the IRS records. so slow down and let the IRS do its work - the letter will explain why they disagreed with you.
