Yes, you can amend your return to add your son as a dependent in the My Info section of your return. Enter your PUA as unemployment insurance at:
- Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
- Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
- Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
- Under Unemployment
- On Unemployment and Paid Family Leave, click the start or update button
To amend your return and start the processes listed above, go to:
- Sign in to TurboTax.
- Scroll down to under Your tax returns & documents,
- Select Amend (change) 2021 return,
- Then Start amending my 2021 return.
- Then, select the reason you’re amending and follow the onscreen instructions.
