Use Form 1040-X to correct or add information on an already filed tax return,
when you submit 1040-X, that 1040-X becomes your new tax return.
IRS will accept three e-Filed Forms 1040-X this year.
There's no collection going on here and you can't tell the IRS to stop it even if you do get through on the phone lines.

In your situation it is best to wait and let the IRS give some result on what you already did.
