Take the following steps to see if you have a different experience. It has been successful for a similar situation.
First try clearing any cache and cookies. This works in many situations because of pieces of data in the background that you though were deleted. Close your TurboTax return and program before clearing the data.
Next, take the following steps for your son's return.
- Save your tax return.
- Close the TurboTax program.
- Right click on the TurboTax 2021 icon on your computer screen.
- Click on Run as Administrator
- Start the TurboTax program and continue your tax return.
- Search (upper right) w2 > Click the Jump to ... Link
- Enter your information.
