The IRS corrected my form and issued a refund, however, the refun is not the total amount due. Can I file an amended tax return for the difference owed on the refund?
The incorrect filing was a result of an incorrect field in the charitable contributions that I was able to override. Unfortunately, I overrode it incorrectly which thru off the entire calculations on the form. I mailed the form into the IRS who then adjusted the form and sent me a refund. Unfortunately the refund didn't include my residential energy credits so I'm still owed money. Can I file an amended tax return?
