I'm in the same situation. I', attempting to file my 2021 Federal tax along with a $1784. 00 I owe them , It will not take my efile. I file by paper last year along with another a check , IRS cashed my check , yet never entered my tax information in their system. I found this out by going to my IRS accont . There state I'm a non-file yet they can cash my check. What do I do to get this fixed , I want to get back to filing by efile. Do I have to file a 2020 tax return again ?
