After you file
If you want to open your 2020 return and create an amendment you can do that and then carry forward to 2021 but I agree with @fanfare there isn't a good reason to go through all the work.
The only concern is when you file your return and enter the AGI to file your taxes. Your original AGI is usually the one used but yours may reject and need to use the altered AGI the IRS sent.
