Adding another data point:
I was able to e-file FINALLY after 3 days, multiple phone calls.
This error message from TurboTax is shameful. There is no reason given as to the why, so when you call the help desk, the employees are just as confused as we are.
It is absolutely due to crypto as I had close to 5k transactions, and turbotax couldn't handle it.
The simple solution I came up with was to upload the .csv, let it aggregate the totals for profit and cost basis. DELETE the .csv file. And then put all of my aggregate into one "purchase" for the year. All of my buys were short term, so this worked for me.
When I went to e-file it worked without issue, so it has to do with the size/volume of the .csv file.
I've been using turbotax for years, but after this non sense I'm moving on to another company.
