My spouse and I did the same mistake mentioned. We both submitted married filing jointly in our own accounts with only each of our income. Hers was accepted and mine was rejected. We have received our refund and know we have to amend but can we switch to married filing separate instead of adding my income? Can I immediately e-file my return as married filing separate after her amended return is accepted as filing separate?
