I just received a bill for unpaid city tax for 2018 and 2019, with penalties and late fees it adds up to $1500+.
I do my taxes through turbo tax because I'm not a tax professional. I wouldn't be paying a third party to do my taxes if I knew what I was doing. I rely on the third-party, whom I am paying to prepare my taxes, to make sure I return everything that needs to be filed. I rely on the third-party to provide the service I have paid them for.
When I called for support, I was offered another service to pay for in order to correct or investigate this. And of course, was told that I had made the mistake, for failing to know everything I need to file my taxes. so turbo tax is not responsible. good for you guys 🙂
Why on earth would turbotax not, at the very least, notify filers in certain zip codes that they need to file a separate return for their city? Why are some cities supported but some not?
I am beyond furious and do not know how I can cover this payment.
