Thank You for your response. They did send me a letter of non filing, but no instructions on how to handle the problem. They had to have gotten my returns because they received my payment and acknowledged that fact. .The letter stated that I would lose the payment that I had paid (over 3 thousand dollars) if they did not receive my returns. I am amazed that they think I would just send them three thousand dollars for no reason, They do not seem to be able to connect my payment with my return.
You are right I have found a number of news articles that they are millions of returns behind. But there seems to be no plan to rectify the mess. My concern is that my payment will disappear, and then they will start adding on fines and want me to pay again. My understanding is that this has happened to many other people also. I will be looking to hire an attorney this week. I just have no trust in what they say. Thanks again.
