Help with form 8453
Hello,
I filed my taxes today, and afterwards, TurboTax told me that I need to mail in form 8453, with no further information. I found similar information in another thread suggesting that in my case, I need to also submit my 1099B form with the form 8453, but this is where the problem lies.
For reference, I sold some cryptocurrency through Coinbase, which does not provide form 1099B, which I assume is why I need to mail in this form. However, I am not clear on what I need to send in. Since I don't have a 1099B, and filled in the summary form in TurboTax it appears that the form 8949 that TurboTax submitted isn't acceptable. But then do I just mail 8453 without any attachments? That seems wrong.
The cryptocurrency in question is some that I personally mined in 2014. So these are mainly long-term capital gains taxes. In that case, there's not much else I can attach.
So, should I go through the process of listing out all transactions on a form 8949 and submitting that as an attachment (and then it won't exactly match with what was e-filed), with the top-line numbers matching? Or what should I do?
