So I have filed ez1040 before however I was trying to do my baby daddy's taxes for him and Im pretty sure I made a mistake. I added myself as a dependent because well he pays for well over half of my care except for i received all 3 stimulus checks.i noticed it said he qualified for a recovery rebate credit (an additional 1,400) which i do not believe to be accurate because we both did indeed received our own 1,400 dolla checks. ALSO I was reading some things on the IRS website and they stated person's WITHOUT dependents could receive a maximum amount of $1,502 for the EIC. He however only got $498 which i assume is because of the fact that I was filed as his dependent. I'm absolutely sure that I didn't get him the highest possible amount and would love some help with a possible solution. I believe if i remove myself as dependent then that would fix both problems??
