Didn't file 1098-T but realized tuition reimbursement was on W-2 wages
I didn't file my 1098-t because I was below taxable threshold and figured I wouldn't qualify for any credits since my tuition was reimbursed by my employer. However, I have since realized my employer puts tuition reimbursement in wages in w-2. So it seems maybe it was meant for me to file the 1098-t or else those wages are not being offset. Should I file amended?
The other question I have is how is it possible that the tuition is in wages if the first $5k or so is supposed to not be taxable.
