After you file

I had to switch to turbo tax desktop from online version because the online version did not allow me to create a specific form. When I go to check efile status, it's states "Accepted.  congratulations! The IRS has accepted this return and you're finished with your taxes." I never received an email from turbo tax and assumed this was enough. I have not received refund and cannot contact IRS to see if they really received my return. How can I get proof of e-filing date to send to IRS? I can not find where to see that in desktop version

Are you referring to a 2021 return?   When did you efile?   We may be able to tell you how to check on your Federal refund.   Since your program tells you that you were efile was accepted, have you tried the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool to check the status of your Federal refund?

It's not uncommon to not receive the TurboTax email acceptance notice.   It happens to some users.   I don't get mine, either, even though I have the TurboTax/Intuit addresses whitelisted in my contacts.

It's also not uncommon to have a delayed refund for a number of reasons.  This time of year, one possibility is a delay due to claiming EITC or ACTC tax credits.   The IRS has only recently begun releasing refunds for filers with those credits.     Any other issue that  would require any manual processing could also lead to a delay.

As for proof of efiling, in your desktop product you can open your 2021 return then go into Forms Mode.  In the list of forms look for one called "Electronic Postmark".   It's usually down near the bottom of the list of Federal forms in your return.

It has the date and time you efiled, and if accepted, it has the date it was accepted.   You shouldn't need to send that to the IRS, however, unless they were to ask for it, which would be unusual.
