You are actually incorrect about it not being correct to prompt an EIC from appearing. In fact, in 2019, Federal Tax Court case law determined that 2014-7 is actually intended to reportable on a W2 for this very purpose. It SHOULD be deemed earned income, but only for EIC purposes, even thought its normally deducted from income and not taxable.
