You are correct, Turbo Tax does not allow you to file an amended return until the 1040x form is available. However Turbo Tax did allow me to file an amended return and did not return it's error to come back later when the form is available. The Federal amended return was accepted by the IRS and settled. It is the state amended return where there seems to be an issue. Turbo Tax does not allow for the automatic electronic filing of the amended state return, even for a fee. It appears to only allow the Federal to be filed using Turbo Tax. It does calculate the state amended amount though.That said, when I go to the Connecticut state Department of Treasury and fill in the corrected amounts from the federal return to the state, the state site calculates a different amount than Turbo Tax did for the state. That is my issue. The state amended tax and the Turbo Tax amended state tax do not agree.
