in all my years of filing with the state of Maryland I’ve never been selected for a random audit I had to provide them with my 2021 and 2022 tax returns along with W-2s and I was also asked to provide a bunch of financial information. There was absolutely no change to my return from last year same as always seems very fishy to me. Maybe they are doing this for quality assurance or I haven’t a clue
