It has not been my experience that "you do not need to do anything other than continue to wait". I took that advise initially, and ended up with hundreds of dollars of late charge and penalties that I cannot do anything about. That has also not the experience of many who have responded to this thread. Follow up with the IRS when you need to, but do look for those instructions to get through to someone in person.
