After you file

Form 2555, line 26 refers to your total foreign earned income.

If you are filing Form 2555 because you had foreign earned income and think that you may be able to exclude it, you should review this section carefully, rather than trying to fix it in review:

  1. Select Federal on the left side menu.
  2. Under  Wages & Income, find Less common income.
  3. Expand the section and find Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion.
  4. Click Edit or Update to the right.
  5. Carefully review the section.

if you do not have Foreign Earned Income, or you don't qualify to exclude it, you need to delete the form from your return in order to file.

After you review the section, the program may tell you that you don't qualify. If you get that message, go along with the option to delete it.
