I am a poor /financially white Irish woman who has been audited every year for the EIC for the first 8 years I claimed it from 1997 to 2005. Life is not always nefarious. It could be one of 3 things randomly even though it feels person . Or because the amounts and and children claimed do not make sense to the IRS. Or it could be fraud .now I do not know you so I always go with the most positive out look until it is proven otherwise . By year 4 if these audits I was getting I figured it is random. Year 5 I got a tax pro to help out turns out the first several were random the last 3 we're looked into because of my husband once we got married I was suppose to file injured spouse so I would get my side of the taxes back he owed child support for his other 2 kids . Hell he still owes the same amount for them 3 kids to this day . They are in their late 20s and early 30s . So probably had 0 to do with the color of your skin.
