After you file

The IRS will process your tax return as you file it.  It does not know if you reported all the income when you file so it will process your refund.  If you do not amend your return to include the additional W2 and the IRS discover the omission (by computer), it will contact you.  The big problem is that this can be months later and the IRS will charge you penalties and interest back to the original due date.
