After you file

No, there is nothing for you to do. The IRS will reconcile the third economic impact payment (3EIP) with your return.  Once it is reconciled they should adjust your refund if necessary. You can check your tax return (Form 1040, Line 30) to see if there is an entry.  If the amount is zero, then your return is correct as is.

 

You can check a couple of things while you wait.  

  1. Sign into your IRS Online Account (or create one)
  2. Review your IRS Transcript (this will populate for 2021 at some point, possibly now)

The second one should tell you if their refund agrees with yours.
