Return Rejected by the IRS
How quaint. My return got rejected by the IRS. Not due to my error, but an error on the part of Turbotax.
Specifically the error is: SA-F1040-027 - Schedule A (Form 1040), 'TotalCharitableContriAmt' must be equal to the sum of the following: "'GiftsByCashOrCheckAmt' and 'OtherThanByCashOrCheckAmt' and 'CarryoverFromPriorYearAmt'".
Turbotax's response is: "This return cannot be filed at this time due to a processing error that will be corrected on February 28, 2022. On or after February 18, 2022 open the rejected return, review it for errors, and resubmit the return for electronic filing."
Seriously? Where is the problem? Is it with Turbotax? Is the problem with Turbotax servers? My return, and refund, is now being delayed by 10 days because some clod in your IT department made a mistake. And 10 days to fix what is a critical issue? Turbotax should do better.
Can I really trust the rest of the process?
