No, If the IRS denies your Earned Income Credit, you will not have to amend your return.  The IRS will make the adjustment and notify you about the result.

 

If the IRS denied or reduced your EITC for a tax year after 1996  for any reason other than a math or clerical error, you must include Form 8862, Information to Claim Certain Credits After Disallowance with your next tax return.

 

This means if you are denied, you will have to include form 8862 with your 2022 tax return to claim it again.
