TubroTax Sent WRONG information to IRS
I've been waiting since last spring for my 2020 tax return. I received a letter from the IRS the middle of August saying that needed more time and that they did not need anymore information from me. I've called a few times and was given the same run around - they need more time to process it.
Today, I was told my return was on hold because there is a discrepancy in my income. This did not make sense, and if so, why would they not tell me?
So while on the phone with the IRS agent, I logged into my tubrotax account and looked at my 2020 return. The information on my return is reading differently from what is on the IRSs copy of my return. The information is correct on my end, but somehow it is not correct on the IRS's end. They said TurboTax must have not given them the right information and I can try to amend it. But they have not sent any letter saying anything about amending it. Has this happened to anyone else? How can something be submitted from TubroTax to the IRS and numbers disappear? All information is right on me end and on my copy that I just redownloaded today. I cannot get in touch with a human at TurboTax.
