I just received a similar notice due to a discrepancy in wages reported on my Federal vs MA return filed in 2019. Even the amount owed is similar! For some reason my social security/ Medicare withholding was also under-reported. I don't understand how something like this could have happened and wouldn't have noticed, assuming the numbers entered were correct (my federal wages were correct).
