I submitted my amended return on 4/1/21 and hadn't heard anything back. I called a fee times because the website said to but I couldn't get any information. One agent told me to stop calling as it was wasting mine and their time. The final agent I spoke to said he would process it himself (never happened) and that was 10/7/21. I finally reached out to my Congressman for assistance. They started my return within a week of my letter to the Congressman. I understand backlog but its not like it was an extra month. Its many months past the posted time line. Maybe change that so people won't expect it in 16 weeks. I have been unemployed looking for a job and that money would have been helpful to bridge the gap. Next year, I'll definitely double check to make sure I have all my documents so I don't have to do this again.
