Seems like you either didn't read, or didn't understand this part, so I'll repeat it, for the short-bus passengers in the peanut gallery:

"...Your point might be valid, critter, if I wanted to do anything more than just print out a .pdf file of my long-since completed return. "

 

Just a .pdf file, that's all.  Nothing more, nothing less.

 

Why do I want a .pdf file if I already have a paper copy, you ask?

Never you mind, sweetie-pie.  My reasons are not relevant to the technical issue.

I'm far too polite to say anything like " none of your dxmn business ".

Or am I?
