After you file
AaronVines wrote:Hi. I e-filed federal and state returns with you guys last year. The State of Louisiana is claiming that I didn't pay taxes or file last year and owe them $868. I have a copy of the email that says that my state return was accepted, but I was hoping I could get some more official documentation as proof that I did for my appeal.
By "last year" do you mean a 2019 return? Log in, and at the Tax Home scroll down to the section Your Tax Returns & Documents. Expand that section and select 2019. It should display whether it was accepted or not. Then view the 2019 PDF. It will likely be a large version with all the worksheets. Look for one of the extra pages called " State Electronic Postmark." (or similar words) There may be 2 pages for electronic postmark--one for Federal and one for State. That should prove you efiled, and that it was accepted.
If you require anything more than that, such as a state efile confirmation number, you'll need to talk to TurboTax Support to see if they can assist you. If you used Free Edition (that's what is displayed underneath your question above), it's best to do that through the free TurboTax Audit Support Center. To phone them during business hours, go to the page below and click on the blue "Get Help" button and follow the prompts to get the phone number. (It will say IRS letter, but they also help with state letters, state audits, etc.)

They are closed until Tuesday, Sept. 7, due to the holiday weekend.
If you paid any 2019 state taxes due with the return, you should have that proof in your bank records, credit card statement, cancelled check, etc.--depending on how you paid them.
