I went through a similar scenario one year ago. The site said not to resend (i.e., remail) any filed returns. I gave up hope of seeing a refund in 2020. No sign of the return appeared on the IRS website. Finally, in the third week of October, my refund arrived (with interest). The interest p, it was later discovered, was taxable. Chris week the IRS stated to news media that as of June 30 there were 35 million returns yet to be processed. (Sounds like last year.)
