Yes they say Michigan do but I thought the RIS automatically do that for you amend Your tax return for your State return unemployment refund

The IRS is only for federal tax returns, not state. The IRS will calculate the unemployment compensation exclusion tax refund on a federal tax return for those that are eligible.
You will have to amend your state tax return for the state exclusion.
