After you file

You're jumping from Amend 2020 return to your 1040x being fully populated so I'm asking what you did after you hit 'I need to amend my 2020 return'.

In between, were you asked to import or select your old return? That option never shows itself to me which was a problem I had with the TT reps. So are you reinputing all your tax info or did you start with your old return open before you started amending? If I do it the way you showed on the screenshots I will have one new W-2 added and no other information on anything.

Nothing.  Once you select amend it is all there.

No,  You don't "import or select your old return" ,  you *start* with opening the original filed return.    Before you go to the "Other Tax situation", you must see  the original  1040 for the return that  you filed with the IRS.  You are amending an existing tax return, not starting a new one.

You open the xxx.tax2020 data file for the return that you filed and amend that. (xxx is your file name).
