After you file

I'm using a Mac. I followed your exact instructions, it looks like it might be working and then I get to the e-file part and it says 'you have no eligible returns for e-filing'. So I check the 1040-x doc and it hasn't populated but is completely blank, as if I haven't amended anything. I'm assuming this means I should just print this and send it, right? This has to be a TT error.

In the "Other tax situations" section for amending try selecting amend and to cancel the amend.  Then switch to the forms mode and if there is a 1040X form - delete it.    Then go back to "Other tax situations"  and amend.   It sounds like a 1040X was created the wrong way and needs to be deleted.

Also be sure that you did not enter the missing W-2 before you started the amend process - if you did - remove it or there will not be anything to amend.   You cannot modify the original file and then amend.

(I also use Mac and the amend works fine. and it makes no difference where you purchased the software - it is all the same and every update on a Mac is a total software replacement.)
