Help figuring out my stimulus and tax return?

Last year during the first stimulus package I did receive my $1,200 check, after that I did not receive my $600 but I was told I could file that claim on my taxes so I did. I was supposed to receive a refund from the state and federal after filing my taxes.

I mailed out my taxes in mid March and today I noticed that my mother has received her refund and she filed hers in early May, yet I did mine in March and have not received anything.

I checked the IRS website to track my taxes and it is not coming up at all that I sent them off. It asks for my information, when I put it in it says maybe I put in something wrong and asks me to verify around the date I sent it off, so I estimated around the 19th and I got this message

Refund status results: We cannot provide any information about your refund. Be sure to:

  • verify your filing date;
  • check with your tax preparer

If you filed a complete and accurate tax return, your refund should be issued within six weeks of the received date. However, processing may take longer under certain circumstances.""

I did file by mail, while my mother filed electronically, but to make matters worse I also did not receive my $1,400 stimulus and when I go to check on it all I get is "Payment Status - Not Available"

I have called the IRS and they told me to just be patient they are still sending checks out to people. But I am starting to get worried that they don't even have my information anymore at this point since I seemed to somehow get missed with the $600 and $1,400 and also my tax return?! this is insane.

I did not move since the $1,200 was sent. I also got that by mail. I don't mind being patient it's just the fact that I could wait and wait and the entire year could pass me by and I don't get my return or stimulus and that's what is worrying me.

And as mentioned above, when you do call them for help, they tell you that they don't have anymore information than the website has, so they really can't do anything for you. So I don't even know why they bother having a help line to begin with. They should have people that can actually help you figure out why you're not getting paid when you should be.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks!
