Amending 2019 return cannot remove misc income

When filing my 2020 taxes, I realized my 1099 income was reporte both in the self employement section and under Misc Income. I cannot get it to be removed from the misc income, 1099-a, 1099-c section. I have followed directions to answer questions as I did before and blank out income but it is still showing extra income here

You can try deleting the Other Income Statement. If you aren't reporting any additional income besides what you are trying to get rid of, that may work. Here is how to delete that statement:

  1. Tax tools (on the left menu bar)
  2. Tools
  3. Delete a form

Find the Other Income Statement in the list and delete the statement.

"delete a form" is not an option once I open tools.

It's not removed from the income path that you just mentioned.

  1. Log into turbo tax
  2. Go to federal>wages and income>other common income>show more
  3. Other common income>revisit
  4. Try to delete the entry here.

@followyeshua Yes, you will need to file an amended return.

@lmf1980  The correct menu path to delete is go to federal>wages and income>other common income>Form 1099-MISC>show more. Then select 1099 MISC. The screen you displayed above is in the wrong menu path.  You choose less common income instead of other common income.

I need the 1099-MISC income to stay. I need the miscellaneous income, 1099-A, 1099-C to be removed. When doing an online amendment it does not look the same as the categories as an original online file. You cant jump to "federal" I am able to find the 1099- MISC income just fine - that I could delete (I dont need that gone tho) I need this other misc income gone... Is there a way to pay to chat with someone/share my screen?

Yes, if you are using an online version you will see "Live Tax Advice" in the upper right hand of your screen.  That will present you with the opportunity to upgrade to a "Live" version.

If you are using a download/CD desktop version, click the "Help" tab in the upper left and select the TurboTax Help Center option.  In the bottom of the popup box you will see "Contact Us".  Follow the prompts there to get to a live call.

Unfortunately that Live option is only available on a current working return, not a previous years amendment. Any other suggestions? No one has been able to give me the correct path to delete this income. It is not the 1099- MISC section I need to delete ( I can access that and know how to do that). It is another section entitles "misc income, 1099-A, 1099-C"

That is normally found in the "Less Common Income" section; "show more" and the "Miscellaneous, 1099A and 1099C" topic should be there.

I do see that section but when I open it I dont have option to delete the previously entered income (wether or not I say "yes" or "no" to if we have additional income to report) so I cant find how /where the income was put in this section
