It is included but up to the user to determine if the credit section applies. Your daughter can potentially report any rent expense for the Michigan Homestead Property Tax Credit, but she cannot report the property taxes paid from your home unless she owns or co-owns the home.
The credit can be claimed if the following criteria are met:
- You own or rent a home, condo, or apartment
- Your home value is less than $135,000
- Your income level is $60,000 or less
- You're a Michigan resident
