My 2020 e-file is getting rejected due to AGI not matching
I filed my 2019 tax returns by mail. I downloaded the 2019 transcript from IRS website to make sure that the AGI amount matched. I am still getting a rejection for the AGI mismatch. I have submitted via e-file in prior years and had to submit 2019 taxes by mail due to rejection on the dependent claim.
Is my 2020 e-file getting rejected due to the fact that I submitted 2019 by mail? The fact that I was able to download the 2019 transcript from IRS and the AGI amount is matching be sufficient for 2020 e-file to be accepted. I am at a loss as to why it is getting rejected.
I tried twice with the correct AGI amount and it has been rejected. I just now submitted with AGI as $0 as I read an article to try that if 2019 tax return wasn't filed. I know that is not the case with me (I have filed 2019 taxes and have a transcript from IRS that validates it) but I am giving it a shot. If my 3rd desperate attempt for e-file also fails (likely) then I will have to submit it by mail. AARGHHH!!!
Update: The federal e-file was accepted by making my AGI for 2019 to $0. It's not what I expected so I am not going to question it.
