The IRS "21-day" goal for processing returns does not apply this year - they are much further behind in their work this year because of COVID-related changes in the tax code and their own COVID-related workplace and workforce issues.
A whole lot of people are experiencing the same issue - many are waiting as long as 10 to 12 weeks for their refunds
If you filed your 2020 taxes and haven't received your refund, your experience is very common - the IRS is encountering major delays in processing 2020 tax returns, and is almost impossible to reach by phone.
