I filed my 2020 return and the IRS and California Franchise Tax Board have already accepted (and paid my refund) my returns. However, shortly after I filed my returns, I realized that I omitted some dividend and investment income. I updated my Turbo Tax File (.tax) with that additional income but TurboTax didn't let me submit my Amended Return at that time. I think it was too soon for filing Amended Returns. Now I want to file my amended return but TurboTax app seems to think that my amended return file is my original return file. When I go down the path of amending a previous return, since I no longer have the file version that was used in my original tax filing, the app thinks that the current version of the file is the original but it's actually the amended file. I hope that makes sense. How can I either submit this current version as an amended return or how can I update my current version to save it as my original return so that I can then use the "amend my return" capability.
