Agree that Turbotax is absolutely useless here.
My guess from reading a bunch of posts is that this issue is on the turbotax side. I'm guessing this because when the returns are rejected no IRS rejection code provided. Also, the federal and state returns get rejected at the exact same time. I assume what happens is TT packages up the data to send to the IRS and State departments, and it is failing at this step. Otherwise there is no way that Federal + State(s) would fail immediately at the same time.
Also, I'm guessing TT only provides the forms (and schedules) to the IRS. The forms do not list the individual IRA amounts, instead they sum them up on the 1040. TT must be doing some validation on all the TT worksheets before transmitting.
