Did you report the identity theft with the fraudulent check cashing? IRS identity theft is 1-800-908-4490
You started the trace and did some faxing, keep calling and staying on it. You will eventually get all the money due but quite the process after everything you have been through. The taxpayer advocate should be your new best friend. Explain to them that you are homeless. That is an extreme situation and they may have extra powers in an emergency.
