Finally some light on the situation!!!

Hello. Ok so I filed on Feb 17th and on the wmr website all of my bars are gone and it says my return is still being processed and a date will be provided refer to tax topic 152. It’s been like this for almost 4 weeks. So I finally spoke to an IRS representative who was very helpful with explaining to me what is going on.  She was the 3rd person I’ve spoken with. The first guy told me I had a code 900 but didn’t explain to me anything about it just said nothing had been submitted as far as forms or anything sent out for me to worry about. The second lady just said looks like 2 weeks. So this last lady explained the best she could what is happening. I am stuck in the ers “error” dept along with half of the rest of the world and the code 900 is basically just some kind of transmission error within the system. It can take up to 10 weeks to resolve itself or even get to the point where  live IRS people even get their hands on it. There are two phases. Once you get past the code 900 transmission error then you’re stuck with another code 100. She even read me from the IRS handbook what this means. Again it’s within their system and there is literally nothing we the taxpayers nor the IRS representatives can do. But good news is that once you change to code 100 she said it typically takes 3-4 days for your refund to be processed. But if the error can’t be fixed within the system then it  could be longer due to something we may have to fix. So it you’re seeing that message on wmr try calling to see where you stand. They can tell you when your 10 weeks will be up. Hopefully as things settle down this “system error” will ease up some. Honestly I feel like they were horribly overloaded and this ers is just kinda like a holding cell in jail because there’s no room for anymore inmates. Who knows. I hope this helps. Good luck to everyone and try not to stress it will come when you least expect it but need it most!
