I made a mistake on my original return by one digit. The IRS contacted me and let me know, so I tried to do an amendment, and it's telling me I have to pay the IRS the difference. But I never received and amount of money from the IRS, the original return was $3000 and the correct should be $2000. But how can I pay anyone back if I haven't received any amount to begin with?
