Yes, I authorized turbotax to process a direct withdrawal from my bank using routing information. The state has already accepted my state returns. Some other users are suggesting that I just wait a few weeks for this process to go through however I do not want to be charged a late fee.
It appears my options are to:
1) wait and it either gets processed or doesn't and I owe late fees
2) find a way to cancel the bank withdrawal and go directly to my state website to pay again.
The link you provided says "When you get ready to file your state return, we'll let you know which tax refund and tax payment options your particular state offers." And when this happened, TT told me to either give permission to TT to authorize a direct withdrawal or to go to the state page to pay. I authorized a withdrawal.
