After you file
@DC79 The IRS is opening returns from last July and processing payment from returns filed last March. There is a delay from filing to opening to processing to payment. Filing your 2020 return, it will include missed stimulus payments and qualify you for the new stimulus.
Sometimes the IRS will file an SFR, a substitute for return. That AGI would be what the IRS has on file. The IRS will create a return on your behalf, missing any deductions and credits, and file it for you. When they receive an actual return, they will replace it - if timely filed. In that case, a zero AGI would not work.
