@Aaronbeh 's response noting that the "Jump to" method for form 8938 doesn't work but the "Other tax situations" method does work solved my problem. When I entered all the same information using the "Other tax situations" method that I had entered previously using the "Jump to" method my form 8938 showed up on my amended return document at the end.
