Return accepted 3/28/21 but STILL no payment made; still showing tax due — help!
I set everything up to pay my taxes as a deduction or debit from my bank account as I have done every year, but it's been almost a week since my taxes were accepted and it's still showing as tax due. Why hasn't it been taken out yet? I have never seen it this delayed.
It's very hard to find answers about this. Many of the forum searches here lead to OLD instructions about how to find the payment date that DO NOT APPLY to how the TurboTax website is set up now. There used to be (apparently) a "Federal Information Worksheet Part V - Direct Deposit or Direct Debit" but I see no way to navigate to that or download it on my TT page.
Why can't we see all of our forms? Why is all of this so confusing and taking so long? Is it just COVID? It would just be nice to know what to expect. The withdrawal date should not be so hard to find or perhaps the timing could just be made more explicit right in the timeline on the main landing page.
Thanks for any insights.
UPDATE: I went to my IRS account page -- https://sa.www4.irs.gov/ola/payment_activity -- and it shows the pending payment, so that's a relief. It also says processing "may take up to 1 week." I think TurboTax should add this language somewhere obvious on our account landing pages. And it should ALSO make it easier to find our withdrawal date and see whether there is actually a pending payment. Just showing "tax due" is disturbing and confusing.
