After you file

The IRS will provide a detailed letter of explanation as a follow up. In the meantime you could try to obtain your IRS Transcript, then match it to the tax return you filed.  This should show the differences.

 

Also, use the the Get My Payment  link to show you what they have on file for you - Select the button Get My Payment to see your information.

    • Customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, unless otherwise noted.
    • Telephone service wait times can average 15 minutes. Some telephone service lines may have longer wait times.
