if you claimed the stimulus credit and then received your stimulus payment after filing should you file an amended return?
Should I file an amended return if I received my stimulus payment right after filing my taxes where I claimed the stimulus tax credit or should I just wait for it to be changed by the IRS since it has already been 5 weeks since I e-filed ?

After you file
Do not amend for this. Wait for your return to be processed. The IRS cross checks and will likely recalculate your refund when they see how much you already received.

After you file
No, you do not need to file an amended return, the IRS will adjust the amount automatically. Please see IRS Recovery Rebate Credit Q D2 What happens if I claim the incorrect amount? for detailed information.
